Awesome story, just reread ir again. But I wonder if you are willing to take a few suggesstions for pokemon for consideration? Since MC is looking for strong, easy to maintain yet mild mannered Pokemon with high potential, why not a Heracross? They are very strong with high defense, good moveset versatility, are pretty easy to feed and keep happy from what i have read. They also have a powerful Mega Evolution form too which would be a boon for him as well. He also knows how to increase its aptitide too so it will easily grow into an even greater powerhouse as well. The only downside really os that they suffer a major weakness to flying attacks and are a single evolution line, not including Mega. Maybe a scyther? They are strong like Heracross and have both a next evolution as well as a Mega Form but they would be more prideful and hot blooded compared to a Heracross which mighy not completely fit in with what the mc is looking for?

Im realy liking this a lot and realy like some good decisions the author made. E.g specialisation on some types, taking rise of dark pokemon as an example, his realy neat backstory, his choice of pokemon

Amazing story. I haven’t come across a worthwile Pokemon story in a very long time, almost gave up on stories from how cookie cutter / generic they got. I am glad i gave this story a chance and ended up binge reading it from start to finish over the past hour or two. its 6am now, and inhave been asleep a long time ago.
