A brilliant start to what appears to be an intriguing novel! My only issue with the chapter would be improper tense usage and a slightly bland word choice, otherwise, the chapter's pretty palatable. Keep it up!

Great starting chapter, I already feel empathy for these poor kids who have been taken. There are different mindsets within the different characters which is a great start. The only thing I would say is try and be consistent with your past tense and present tense writing styles, it jumps in and out at times. Other than that great start! I will write you a review :)
