I think something that can help u is. that u give the npc the ability to have children this way the world is always expanding not only that the children should have their own personality this way the world is always evolving so other kingdoms and reveloutions and so on will lead to a forever changing lore and stories since even the owner doesn't know what is happening. Another thing is for every npc or player will expand the game so anyone that is born or login the world will add extra space so this world is always expanding. I hope u get what I mean and this helps.
