Pros and Cons to each proffesion in the story. Magic Technician: [Pro: Fits well with setup, and would further enhance his skills. Cons: Does not add anything insanely new for him.] Divine: [Pro: Can be used to set up future plot tension, and also useful if a certain plot detail is relevant (the tower wanting him to do something] Magic Scholar: [Pro: Further his skills as an elite mage that crafts his own spells and furthers his research. Cons: Not really any, other than could get repetitive or contradict existing magic system.] Ritualist/Occultist: [Pro: Powerful, could set up future schemes, could be used easily with his large access to money. Cons: Doesn't fully fit with what the tower seems to want him to become.] Illusionist: [Pros: Fits with his build well, grants more versatility and future schemes are enhanced. Could be combined with Alchemy and Array Master to create the ultimate trap. Cons: None, other than the fact could be giving up larger scale firepower] This is for you author san
personally i think magic scholar fits him best since he is already trying to understand the secrets of magic and he is actually learning spells without the towers assistance...but we were asked to eliminate choices , not pick so here are my picks and reasoning Magic technician should be eliminated because it looks like it has too much overlap with Array masters from the description, only with the benefit of it possibly being more mobile/easier to use? honestly I cant tell the difference between these 2 professions besides one making solid objects and the other making array. I'd imagine that some possible distinguishing factors are potency v.s flexibility Illusionist doesn't seem to fit Otto's class well. He is a rainbow caster so to take up a profession catering to only one element really doesn't make much sense. Honorable mention: Diviner- Otto already pretty much knows what is going to happen in the near future so for his 3rd profession this doesn't seem like a wise choice, but he won't have this advantage forever so this is probably a better candidate for his 4th (or 5th if he evolves again) profession. additionally it seems to be a form of magic he could study which would most likely help him since time looks like a hidden element given that there has be no mention of a class with time spell but time is openly manipulated by the tower
Illusionist should not be considered. He already has illusions from other elements and it seems like a profession that priests would take to stay alive.... Like many others I dont like the ritual professions. Again this is a profession for a preist to be good at not an elemental caster. Of the three remaining professional otto needs magic scholar in order to both better use his class/take advantage of the number of spells he is learning. Magic technician should bring benefits to his current floor stories. Elliot is the best choice for diviner...
I think illusionist simply becuase toto monipulates people a lot and illusions could go into his combat style or deviner simply becuase he can devine what those powerful foogies are doing in the (story mode) he can look how others have completed it in the past as well both are big boons that can make him more op
