Not to be mean or hateful but these last chapters are hard to read. The last 5 or 6 chapters were all about his improvement. There wasn't any progress on the plot or human interaction. Yes, the protagonist needs to get stronger and it can't be suddenly because otherwise it will sound like plot armor, but you can add little bits of talk, dialog or even some antagonist side-character. Maybe he can team up with other people or they try to steal his kill. Again, im not trying to be an a-hole but these last couple chapters were a bit dull.

No it doesn't have to be cliche. The author can make these chapters better in his own style.

I really like how the MC refines his fighting technique and I don't want his slow, intellectual but stable progress to be ruined by some random power up but maybe some insight.

He probably should contact that Beast doctor again to thank him for the tip about mana stones. It might even be useful knowledge for humanity to realise some mutations need additional mana to gestate, which they can test for in the pagoda.
