I'm confused, did Jacob save her from being gang raped or did Cedric, (as was alluded to in the chapter where they came back from the island separately) but allowed everyone to believe Jacob saved her, because Jacob claimed he did it???

A little confusing when names are typed in wrong. Also, in beginning it seems like the ML and FL didn’t know each other but now it states they were in high school together and had crushes on each other. I do like Cedric’s younger sister. She’s fiesty.
