I hate this "I feel I can trust her" BS Didn't he trust his "ex-GF" to sell the plant but got his house raided and he and his mom almost got killed? His first thought should had been he was betrayed but instead we get a random 3 months timeskip to this world where the MC immediately start trusting a random woman and in just a few days of meeting her he already have thought of sacrificing his life (and of his mom) if the woman as in danger.
