This truly is an ATG fic, mc is on the road to become Scum Che. Author made the MC have flaws that were cringe but realistic enough which he overcame through the support of his wives. Now that he is confident he is willing to throw it all away just for some crush he had from a webnovel and because the character is pretty.As you said the downfall of this story is just sad.
