Either the farger is weak but sarah respects him, or gerald has a really warped perception of his own strength. Honestly, with his attitude, im actually willing to bet on the latter. he seems incapable of thinking someone can be stronger than him. on a side note, really looking forward to what sarah will do to her butler guy who betrayed her
The reality of Gerald's situation is written so well. When a child is abused from early age, they develop an instinct level of fear towards the abuser. Especially if the abuser is their parent. In children's psychology, parent equals life. Whatever evil the parent does against the child, they will always stive for the parent's love and acceptance. Even if Gerald knows well that he could kill his father, even hurting him would equal suicide on a psychological level.
