Well, I am happy to know that MC can be ruthless if he wants. Atleast there won't be unneeded pity for his opponents in future.

Seriously surprises me how attached I'm getting to Evan only after 20 Chaps, I'll be honest I've had this in my library for weeks and didn't bother reading it becuase I didn't wanna get bogged down by another trash universal system novel but f*** it delivered a gut punch after I forced myself to finish reading the second chapter(Didn't finish it because the guard said sorry after he literally made fun of him had my brain cringing). But I'm glad I did finish it and now that I'm all caught up I can say that this is already one of my favorite system novels, the different types of systems are interesting and the MC's uniqueness doesn't detach him from the world around him it just gives him the opportunity to live a life he's been pining for during every miserable moment he had to experience. He's naive but changing, obviously a bright young man he just never had the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment(The Academy just barely counts ig cx), he's resourceful and a quick thinker. The type of underdog you don't need to root for because he'll come out on top by hook or by crook and that's really reassuring. Keep up the good work and also f*** I keep laughing my ass off in public cuz of the author comments cx make those references more obscure, my social standing cant take any more hits.

one of my top three favorite novels the other runner ups are shadow slave and i forget the name of the last one but it has swordsman in the title, also the mcs name is shang\alex all good reads that dont shy away from details mental and physical

To be honest I expected him to be pretty wimpy after being abused for so long and then bullied before school started. Kind of surprising he at least fights back now. It really make me wonder why he didn't even attempt to fight back in the beginning with the bullies. You can argue because he didn't have his powers yet but you don't need powers to fight back. It just helps.
