Really, the bonus cut and reprimand are entirely in order. How stupid does a person have to be, to end up in that situation? He neglected his job, while under a tight deadline, solely in the hope of dipping his wick, as it were. No sympathy at all. The story does have potential, cliché but not unenjoyable. The sentence structure in here is horrible.
