what your describing sounds like micro expressions. which are pretty hard to catch with the naked eye, unless magic. so what he is catching is emotional intent before concious thought, because body language cant inform a person of any specific thought. its not mind reading, even though you specified mentalism. Mentalist do various other tricks to fool the people their performing for, not just reading body language. nonetheless interesting.

(I hope this doesn't come off as an attack, I really like your novel, I wouldn't get privilege if I didn't, I just want to explain my feelings on it). I have a few points about the reading body language and I am struggling to describe them. So first is when it was introduced, when Noah was trying to obtain an explanation as to why he could understand the dwarf child I feel if there was a skill like that that Noah had he would have displayed it to this extent earlier, he goes into the hospital and seems not to notice the nurses attracted to him. You could argue that he is distracted by thoughts of his sister but if he is to this level I struggle to believe he wouldn't notice these. My education at University is physics and I struggle not to get distracted by things that I notice through this. Second is something that you yourself had pointed out. The group he was with immediately believed him ( I think they were all shocked, mouth open). You have probably had plenty of readers that didn't think this would be applicable or a real thing so I would've thought the group had some of that as well, maybe when they saw the interpretation (from their perspective, Noah could understand the dwarfs language) succeeding they would've trusted it more. Noah interpreting it from his head like this is much more believable and I like it as it allows him to make decisions. I am also not an author though, so you and other people can think for me to stuff a shoe in my mouth or to stub my toe or something. I imagine a lot of hate. I also understand this is fiction. 🙂😝

I’m sure that as lucifer his power could have more diversification like illusion, telekinesis, mind control or something related, Morphing or even other elements (maybe i’m pushing it a little here)

I really disliked the body language descriptions in this chapter. It felt less as a natural part of the story and more of the author going all in and being like "this is real you guys!!!" Look I'll describe it to prove it. The descriptions prior to this chapter were fine. This chapters description really derailed the story for me. Keeping it a bit vague worked better with the story flow. I'm not commenting about body language in reality or anything here. This is entirely just about the flow of the story.

The writer of this novel is a brazilian youtuber called "Zy" that was exposed a few months ago for exchanging nude pictures with an underage girl that was one of his subscribers. She was around 15.

body language is really very useful, I really like how noah makes the relationships by combining the reactions and the event which allows an adequate (approximate) reading to the person observing using the context, even something like eye movements can give us information on the mental state of a person, thanks for the chapter
