i get games of politics at a small scale within the academy itself, as it is a necessity to learn to navigate it, but how does factions threatening families help the students? you'd think the academy would have or create policies that would forcibly expel any acolytes/instructors from said factions

It’s kind of a lot of plot holes here emery is well known as the savage acolyte. Especially how the last academy closed why is his name treated as unfamiliar. Why would the academy heavily recruit emery for underhand methods to be allowed so much unexplained I believe I should just allow this story to build
