Good attempt, but it felt like Emery’s intense desire to flee felt a little off character - he has never been portrayed as someone who would do this. Granted, this would allow for a shorter chapter and being able to close with the twist so..

Man I always come back to this novel against my better judgment just to find out that Emery is still an ignorant child who never makes the correct decisions but is saved by plot armour every. single. time. Great writing, great MC that literally only cares about himself even in the beginning when he was portrayed as naive, self righteous, and good hearted. His decisions still always ended up hurting those around him. And yet never once, did he ever take responsibility for his own actions. Don’t even get me started about how this is turning into a Harem because he was never able to treat the one person who truly loved and cared about him right and yet still comes back every time. Never have I and probably will ever again hate an MC as much as I hate Emery even 2000 chapters in.
