His tough love in our real life is quite extreme, but at least it's normal in one piece.. Just look at how Garp teach his grandson and how Usopp dad just leave without care even when he love his family... So in one piece, this is actually a good type of love..

I think the children made the story so much better than it would've been without them.

It's a nice change of pace from the usual sociopathic monster which the author likes to write. Don't get me wrong, I did like the Naruto fic, but it was missing the human element. Now there are actual conversations, instead of the MC's mad ravings about immortality and constant manipulation. Overall, I think this a step-up from your other stories just by the virtue of having an actual human (or fishman) as the protagonist instead of a bipolar mad person. Keep up the good work.
