I actually just noticed but, are these idiots getting more retarted by the chapter? Artoria already revealed that Ainz, who is the god of death, is the dragon, yet they think that Ainz will die because he is Artoria's "minion"? They do realize that if Artoria was somehow capable of having a deity as a minion they already lost the battle? And besides, if Ainz did "die", aren't they the least suspicious that Ainz's sentinels that are in the city, still didn't disappear? And that the citizens did not cause a mass panic that the sentinels of the god of death disappeared mysteriously?
You could say after victory against Arthur all of them now are riding the hero mentality. Sentinals or not 'if Arthur the wielder of the infamous Excalibur could be defeated surely the great dragon if they face it together would not be that strong'. The impression which was given from her easy death was the reason. Besides, in this time Arthur was considered one of the strongest which gave the confidence to pursue the dragon or Ainz. The people too did not possess enough intelligence to differentiate between both and relied mostly on myths and stories for clarifications, it was still medieval times that allowed these speculations.
