Ahh, another classic cliff-hanger where the protagonists are fully aware of the situation and we are left on the edges if our proverbial seats. A reverse on the usual mechanic of he reader being omnicient. It’s almost as if the characters are mocking the reader for not understanding. It feels grating. These cliff-hangers are becoming quite irritating, I must admit. “Authors are preachers who fight with pens. Good authors are popes who rally thousands for a single cause and Great authors are a goverment body monopolising an addicting aphrodisiac drug.”
