My understanding of why Lucy did not get angry with Calhoun when she eventually learned that he killed all the elders is becoming clearer. By the time these two witches are done torturing her she probably will want them dead as much as Cal did. She is just too sweet to be able to do anything about it herself. They are way too cruel and exceptionally stupid. They should have utilized Ruby to convince Lucy to cooperate more easily. Instead she will resent them more and rebel more. If not for Theo making her angry, she may have never gone with Samuel.
I had a funny feeling that Ruby was going to be punished for her meeting with Lucy. Of course it wouldn’t have gone unnoticed as Morganna seems to find out everything. Lady Samara - she thinks she is of such authority & enjoys these power trips alongside her mother-in-law. She probably feels that these types of instances put her in favour with Morganna & makes her feel very much included within the inner royal circle. Yet if she only knew what Morganna & Rosamund have done to her. Here she is accusing Ruby of trying to take her place as Lucy’s mother...a position that would never have been vacant if Samara wasn’t so self obsessed, insecure, selfish and indifferent. Yet right beside her is her mother in law who stole her right to be a mother & caused miscarriages. The irony. Morganna has no conscience & her cruelty & utter heartlessness knows no bounds. Poor Ruby, she is yet another pawn used & discarded. She has only ever shown love & kindness to Lucy. A lowly maid with no status...yet they see her as a threat. Morganna & Samara are so power drunk that they are delusional. Will Lucy find out about Ruby’s execution or will her mother & grandmother cover it all up to protect themelves from Lucy’s ill feeling? Although, in theory they never care what anyone thinks, hence forcing Lucy into a loveless marriage!!! Yet again...LOVE this update!!
