Comments of chapter undefined of The Crown's Obsession

Im so confused. I just want her to tell Calhoun everything. He’ll know what to do. Is she dead? Is she a witch? Was she named after someone else a different family member ?

I was thinking that Maddie would be a witch. Not sure who would be the opposite a vampire. I think for some reason Maddie had killed her friend and her family covered it to save not only her but themselves, and them erased her memory about it. Or have she died and somehow they brought her back using her friend as a sacrifice in some weird ritual? Also it seems that Maddie can see past and related it to present, since her grandparents were thinking about put her to rest.

Can I just... I need more clues.. Her so called family is not her real family. The real Madeline Harris is dead, and she's not the one. So.. How come no one noticed that she's not the real Madeline? did Her grandparents brainwashed the entire vilage? Or no one ever saw the real Madeline face in public? And The present Madeline is either another girl who take her position as the daughter of Harris family (bcs she's already dead), or jeanne herself (switch position).
