The original ended in tragedy because Wulin and Gu Yue didn't communicate properly, but it is different here. Huang Yu and Gu Yue are willing to open up about their feelings to each other. Huang Yu has both power and influence to stop a lot of the things that Wulin and Shrek couldn't in canon. They have a good relationship, to see it end in tragedy is a massive kick to the balls.

After reading this chapter, I cannot help but had the idea that the three stooges(bishop?) will screw things up so badly because you know... that even huangyu and guyue will feel bad for the girl involved or something... thereby opening the route. Just a random thought that popped up.

Tragedy? No. A big fat NO! Just look at the state of novels today. Most of the mcs cannot be considered as humans at all. Most of them either dont have parents or they are all dead. And those are considered the better ones! Most of them are born or raised completely braindead as well. And delusional. Real slice of life novels with good mcs are a treasure.
