Honestly, as much as this is interesting. I wanted to see mc that actually is low key. I mean author/mc is basically just putting surface level effort into being low key. Best way to be covert is being average, and mc always hides as the weakest, which is obviously target and source of attention. It's not that the writing is bad, but since premise of the story and mc's motivation is to stay low key and avoid karma, this development just makes mc look really stupid (while at the same time he is being portrayed as very competent). Basically author is playing this situation as cheap joke, and source of that joke as always is that mc is just dumb af. I mean can't these authors use something other than drop in IQ to drive jokes and plot -.-
