If MC wants to be low-key, he should be neither too strong or too weak. Pretending to be too weak makes people think he's a hinderance to the group, inviting only disdain and bringing him negative attenton. Doesn't make sense if his plan is to avoid attention.

I approve of the MC paranoid protective instincts. In all cultivating or high powered worlds, a lot of the time others become a real danger to other in one way or another. The fact of hiding his true strength, is a brilliant way of having a few way at surviving incoming unforeseen dangers. Nice chapter highly amusing as a story.
