I'm starting to lean more towards the MC taking over the parasite. The MC seems like the practical sort and I think he would devour the kid's soul if he has no other choice. However, the author has repeatedly portrayed the kid as the epitome of naïve childhood innocence, making it sadder and sadder when his soul is eventually devoured. However, we've already seen another pathway that allows the kid to live, which is of course the MC taking over the parasite's body instead. In this way the kid can live on while the MC can take over any time serious work needs to be done. Furthermore, while the kid is essentially useless right now, there is no telling how he might develop in the future and and its not hard to envision scenarios when having two souls might be better than one. Also, another prediction. It seems like the sync rate is determined by how much pain one can handle during the induction process as shown by the "he must be a masochist" comment regarding the 94% guy. We've already seen that the boy can pass his pain senses over to the MC, thus, it is possible that during the sync process the MC and boy can "share the load" to achieve an absurdly high sync rate.
great story author there's nothing really to complain about, but in my opinion I find the way your introducing the world and side characters are overpowering the mc. like everything that has been said could've been mc and not the sister with the first time skip. as of right now I feel no connection with the mc its like his only purpose is filler with a constant reminder that his soul is taking over. I hate to rant and maybe this will only last a few more chapters but it just feels like a struggle to get through this and see mc be an actual mc, anyway thanks for the chapter and keep up the great writing.
