Oh, yeah! Layla’s body naturally unlocked the strength of her incredible qi during battle. I wonder if she always had that strong qi all her life or it was passed to her from her mother when her mother died?
its not a combination, in the previous chapters they mentioned that leo had tried to tech layla qi before but she had no talent in it.

I hope we get to see Layla develop her own style more. I think Layla will pretty strong once she masters properly using Qi, her ability and vampire powers at the same time. Kind like how Quinn has to take time to level up and improve each individual she has to do the same before combining them. Also hope for more sword Quinn he has always been pretty talented with martial arts so would be nice if her turned out to be good with a sword as well. Plus now that he has blood control and Qi he might be able to learn how to use his blood skills with it now.
I think Layla created a new stage of Qi!! 5th stage(?) This is why I believe so: She's only proficient in first stage Qi, however when using her arrows she can somehow use "2nd stage" even though she can barely use it on her own body. Not just that, but the blade had been broken and she couldn't use Qi while handling it, however when she used her telekinesis to move the broken pieces she somehow infused it with "2nd stage" Qi even though she had stopped touching the blades. She's not using her body to infuse the objects with Qi, she's using her ability to infuse the objects with Qi!!!
