who would have f****** thought that the 2nd leader and Mika where hiding there own agenda. I kinda wish the author would stop treating Quinn like a plot device and more like a character. I'm really sad because I really like this novel, but the author keeps pulling back all of his growth. The fact that he constantly jumps to conclusions and doesn't listen to the people he should trust the most. Even him trusting complete strangers when people have explicitly told him not to. ugh it's just so frustrating when I read these more recent chapters. I know the author is doing his best and has a lot on his plate but I just have to vent. Not sure if other people feel the same. The fact that his companions and side characters have more development than the MC. Sigh I'll still read in hopes of what's to come.
I've read all the comments and while I agree they all have merit, let me throw this out. What if the antagonists are Muka and...Dwight? Now a few of you have already nominated Muka and there is some telling evidence in that area, but what about Dwight? He isn't going to sleep when the King does. After the attack on the 10th he couldn't get any evidence against anyone with all the resources his position would give him. He seems to like Quinn but he only seems to reinforce Quinn's opinions without adding much new information unless asked directly. He also is one of the most powerful individuals in the vampire world and maybe has designs on taking the throne due to his feelings on the current family leaders. I mean, if there is a war and he comes in fixes everything after the leaders kill off one another, who would be the logical choice? I sure hope this is waaaaay off base because I like him so far, but I always look for a quirky solution.
For someone who's been betrayed so much, Quinn makes a lot of mistakes in the trust department. I mean sending someone as brainless as Nate of all people with Cia(whom he cannot trust in the first place), to the lair of Cindy who he's been warned against. The most logical thing to do would've been to take Cia himself, seeing as was not busy with anything else for the time being.
I think 1uinn and Cindy are fighting on the same side and Cindy is severly injured. I do like the theory of healing a bloodsucker's mind, but would that allow them to be able to switch between the two forms? Muka is still sketchy. I cant recall anything low key revealing why Muka would want to work with the blood suckers to change the vampire thinking. He seems to be pretty strict on their rules. Lots to consider
I still can't help but think Muka and Lee are possibly working together. Fills in a few gaps. (Fex being unharmed while kazz was beaten, memory erased, how muka knew of his dissaperance so fast, etc.) all being a ploy so the mastermind can become king and in exchange Lee gets his son back into the 13th. (I explained it better in an older comment, can dig it up if necessary.) Im glad Quinn hasn't made a move yet, and I hope he manages to turn the whole situation in his favor. Also hope he will have the chance to wield his soul weapon again, though im unsure on if it requires human blood due to his vampire nature, or if it'll work with any blood due to his human nature. I'm assuming the former for now.
