Not perfect but not an idiot. It’s horrible to see something that everyone knows he should know. Can’t have him be great one minute and a tool the next. It’s irritating. He should learn as he goes and learn from mistakes but not the wtf is he an idiot type stuff. You learn from your mistakes but if he pisses on an electric fence and acts surprised... dropping

Flawed, but please don't make him make mistakes that even my 5 year old cousin wouldn't. And everyone likes character growth so getting better will definitely suit peoples taste.

Flawed in power, have him taste some defeats but make him smart.

Flawed is OK as it adds humanity - but please avoid cliche stuff like dense and idiot MC, especially low EQ MC's. Important thing is that their quirks shouldn't be frustrating and shouldn't be the main plot driver.
