- If you have windows on two sides of your building keep the one in shade open and the one in sunlight closed. - Don't open refrigerator for too long as heat is generated outside of it when the inside is cooled. - shower in lukewarm water, not cold (body heats up after cold showers) - light clothing - if you have possibility of getting a weight blanket (not sure if this is the right name) the insides keep much cooler at night than you might think. Plus it (in my case) makes you fall asleep faster. Hope it helps!
well I used to put hats and shirts in the freezer and swap them out to keep cool in college with no AC. If you put a bucket of ice water in front of a fan that'll help as well, not alot but it'll help. I've also had roommates make ghetto AC units from styrofoam coolers, ice, and a desk fan. A more permanent solution would be to buy a portable AC unit. They have like small ones for single rooms for like 80-100$.
You could put your daily outfit in the washing machine so you can wear something cool in the heat of the day. Of course it is a waste of water. I suppose instead, you could wet your clothes in the shower with cold water and then do your best to ring out the excess so you achieve optimum dampness. This was an idea suggested to me awhile back. I had wet jeans on a hot summer's day. It was surprisingly effective, although in my case I was in motion playing soccer. Don't ask about my boxers. Buuuut if you're sitting down, you could place a buffer so your seat doesn't get wet. Scratch that. You know how in anime if someone is sick they place those warm washcloths on the individual's forehead? (anime is my education) Do that except make it cold and cover yourself in wet cloths. Mummify thyself. Or get an electric fan and eat ice.
Depends on the local climate, aside from the previously posted stuff - warm drinks like tea or coffee makes your body cool down n it’s own, stay hydrated, nap if possible during the hottest part of the day, showering with warm water will make you feel cold after getting out of it, so you can take few quick showers during the day, avoid cooking and heating.
