Even if whitebeard was the world's strongest at the time, there's no reason for Markus to be so accommodating to him. Markus himself has such a high bounty and he is easily as if not more powerful than an admiral in direct combat while being able to kill an admiral whenever he wants through a sneak attack. He should show more spine.
