I would love to have a conversation with the author about this issue… I don’t believe true artificial intelligence can be created autonomously and if it was realized by way of analysis and reproduction of a human consciousness it is at most an echo of life. That’s not to say I am completely opposed to the notion of granting rights to such an existence… but I would not grant ‘human rights’ as they are not human.
