Jake's Gramps is trying to build the family's future around him. He's smart so he might suspect Jake has skill or two that is really good for the faction. Also, I like Kevin and if he hasn't created an island yet, having Werebear Kevin with some % of Myrtharian Body on your squad is great.

I'm suprised its still male dominated society (only the childeren of the males are part of the family). I expected more equality there, or maybe the old man is just oldfashioned. Or am I assuming from since Richards son Kevin also can't join the family faction/should join Jake's? So its potentional based?

I think it will make an atmosphere rich in carbon dioxide generating a greenhouse effect, to benefit from the sun's rays, it will also put new plants (bought in the aether Stone) that are adapted for excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, or another way to make an effect greenhouse. This hand earth will also be normal, it will have special minerals and forms of microorganisms that make the earth richer. Honestly I really don't understand reason to get personal islands. They could have pooled their money and make one big island that can accommodate everyone. And they wouldn't need to buy stuff like atmosphere, scanner and whatnot separately. It's just massive waste of money and overall inconvenience.
