I am honestly split on this. On the one hand, I think that a best buddy isn't a good idea for him. The reason best buddies work is usually because they can help each other out, give each other support, tell each other their secrets, etc. Ex. In naruto, shikamaru was the brains while naruto was the muscle. They were both at the same "level/status" because they needed each other. This doesn't work in noctis case since he has a cheat system. He has too many secrets to fully trust someone else with them, except irene. On the other hand, I can see this working out really well. If he doesnt tell the best buddy about his secrets, then this could work out nicely. I see this like having a family friend. The dads talk to each other about dad stuff while the kids have a play date. You usually don't tell family friends all your secrets, you just talk to each other about family and tend to keep work out of the conversation unless you're both complaining about it. Ex. Mc and bff are talking about raising children and give each other useful tips they learned. Or MC and bff are both in trouble because of their wives and get drunk trying to find a solution so they don't have to keep sleeping on the couch. Or they both show up at a kids match and begin fighting over whose kid (soccer dads lol) is better all at the embarrassment of the kids.

Lol then exceed is appropriate bestie. Or just gildarts lol.
