Author, in the end note you talk about the change of whose territory the planet is in. Depending on if the two border each other, or if there is a third in the middle (north east, east, and south east in otherwords), you could still keep some of the initial plan. Makui could be near the border and just have been the nearest planet when the Wang Clan Ship had to make an emergency landing (perhaps they were going around the border planets of their own territory for a similar purpose to the divine sect's martial gathering), in which case the description would just go from "Makui was part of the Wang clan territory" to "Makui was one of the closest planets to the Wang clan's territory". Or its in a buffer zone between both, where neither have control (too insignificant a planet to expend that much effort) but that the Divine sect still recruits from.
Okay so the dude a genius. He will obviously win the competition. Then join a sect that is competing with his future wife sect. Because realistically that will increase his chances of never getting married. Wait he was a genius right. Does low eq equate to making bad decisions. Because that is a illogitical thought process. Even tribalism would tell him that being in the wrong tribe makes marriage much harder.
Im bothered that the mercenary guild keeps pushing the stupid. Martial arts competition. I also really do not want to read about another stupid martial arts competitions. I hated them when i did them and i hated reading about them. His daily life is much more interesting then competition. He already said he does not want to participate. They need to bugger off. Instead they keep pushing for him to enter battle to the death for some meager resources.
