Chapter 2

"Wait! I'm already here!"

We all looked at the man who had just arrived. He was still sweating profusely and catching his breath. I immediately approached him and handed him a bottle of water.

"Thanks, Dariantha," he thanked me.

Meet Kaiden Adler, but I usually call him Kaid. He's also my childhood best friend, he's my second friend. He's also an actor. Dark brown eyes with a black hair. He has a well-built body just like Dalton and Ackley. He's also kind,ㅡsometimes rude when he's with Daltonㅡsmart, playful, handsome, and especially, he's so lovable.

He's like a younger brother for me even though he's older than me. And he's my leading actor.

"They told me you won't come, Kaid," I told him, forehead twitched.

"I wasn't really supposed to go here, but when I heard who was going to replace me, I immediately withdrew what I said and went here, Dariantha. Why? Don't you want to see me?" he pouted.

I kicked him jokingly and he laughed. "Of course, I want to see you. I already miss you a bit. Anyway, let's go, change your clothes now. " He went to the tent of his manager and changed his clothes.

I looked at the director, then to Ackley. He seemed to understand me because he spoke. "Since Kaiden is here, you can rest now, Ackley. Thanks for your help. And you, Dariantha, come back here."

Ackley started walking towards the exit. "Just wait, Director!" I smiled at him before I followed Ackley. "Hey, are you okay, Ackley? Why do you seem so lethargic? " I was abut to touch his forehead when I remembered I couldn't reach him. Our height is the problem, obviously, he's so much taller than me.

"Ah, this is nothing. Maybe I'm just tired. I'll just ask Lynn to accompany me outside. " He went to where Lynn is. I think there is something going on between those two.

Yeah, Lynn is here, but she didn't go here to act, instead she went here to help those camera men take pictures. Aside from acting, she also loves taking pictures and videos.

I'm happy for them, just in case I was right. I mean, they are both kind, and I'm pretty sure that their relationship will be well handled if they're truly dating.

"Dariantha! What now?! You've been looking out there for a while, Ackley's already gone! " I heard our Director shouted.

I faced him and smiled. "Sorry, Director. I won't do it again, promise! " I even raised my right hand as if I was swearing. Kaid went out of the tent, so we started.

We started on the part where Ackley and I stopped, the kissing scene. It didn't make me uncomfortableㅡnot like when Ackley is hereㅡbecause we're already used to it. Before this movie, we already made many movies together. We are the love team.

Our whole shooting went smoothly. After two hours, it was finally over. The next shooting is said to be the next day because the director is going somewhere tomorrow. I guess he will take care when he will release our project.

After I got dressed, I got my bag. I was about to go when Kaid pulled me towards his car. "Wait, Kaid. I brought my car. Where are we going? I'll just follow you if you want," I told him.

"All right, Dariantha. You just follow me, okay?" I just nodded before I went outside. Like what I said, I followed him using my car.

He stopped in a front of a park, so I also stopped. We went out of our own cars. "What are we going to do here, Kaid?" I asked him.

Instead of answering, he sat on a swing, so I did the same beside him. "Dariantha, I want to ask you something, but can you answer it truthfully?" He looked at me straight into my eyes. I don't know, but I suddenly felt nervous about whatever he was going to ask.

"G-Go ahead," I stuttered.

He took a deep breath before he spoke. "Can I coㅡ"

He was cut off when we suddenly heard Lynn's shout. "Dari! Why are you two here?" She approached us. I looked behind her and saw Ackley walking towards us as well.

"When we were finished, Kaid brought me here," I answered, still looking at Ackley. When he caught me staring at him, I immediately shifted my gaze away from him.

"Ah, that's why. Ackley also invited me to go here. Then while we're walking, I saw both of you. Do you have anything else to do or were you two talking? Did I interrupt?"

I would have answered when Kaid preceded me. "Nothing, Lynn. Why?"

Lynn and he are also close because when I became friends with Kaid, he has always met Lynn because of me, so they did become friends too. At first, Lynn didn't really want to be friends with Kaid, but things went the opposite.

"Let's hang out. We haven't been able to hang out for a long time." She faced Ackley approaching. "Wanna come, Ackley?" He nodded as his response before Lynn faced me again. "Can you call Dalton, Dari? I miss him too." I don't know but there seems to be a tremor in his voice.

Uh, I thought she and Ackley were dating? I looked at Ackley, forehead twitched. He seemed to understand because he shook his head. Ah, so Lynn and him are not a thing.

I excused myself before I picked up my phone and dialed Dalton's number. After two rings, he answered the phone. "Why, Dariantha?! Do you know I have a date today?! Call me later!"

"Wait!" I said before he can even end the call. "Lynn wants to hang out with us. You can come with your date as long as your date is not sassy," I threatened before ending the line.

One time, we all hung out too and Dalton was with a woman. She was beautiful, sexy and non-showbiz, but she was very sassy, and neither me nor Lynn liked it. Lynn and I just hugged Dalton before, but she raised an eyebrow and scolded us. I want to say I'm Dalton's sister, but I just let it pass. Thank God, Lynn was also able to control herself back then.

I went back to them, and they were just having a conversation about what happened in the shooting we had earlier with Kaid after Ackley and Lynn left.

After thirty minutes, after a long wait, my brother finally arrived. I was expecting he was with a woman, but he's all by himself when he came.

Lynn approached him and hugged him immediately, her cheeks reddening. I think he likes Dalton. It's okay for me as long as Dalton doesn't hurt her because I'm sure I'll fight him badly.

When my brother saw our half-brother Ackley, he immediately looked away, trying to avoid looking at him. Dalton hates Ackley so much, but it's not mutual because Ackley was not disgusted with Dalton. For him, Ackley was the reason Mom and Dad divorced. No matter how I try to say that Ackley had nothing to do with it, he just doesn't listen to me.

"What's up, brother-in-law?" Kaid approached him for a hug, but he met my brother's fist even before he could do it.

They were always like that. Kaid tends to tease Dalton, he's always calling him 'brother-in-law' because he said, we are the one who will be with each other at the end. Dalton, on the other hand, is beating Kaid because he does not want to be his brother-in-law. So there, instead of Kaid being kind, it will fade whenever he's with my brother.

"What's up, your face! Don't even call me brother-in-law, I don't want an ugly brother-in-law like you! Shoo, stay away! I might even get infected by your ugliness!" I just sighed on what I saw.

Kaid was about to wrap his arm around Dalton's neck when he got punched by him again. "Ouch, it hurts, brother-in-law. Also, whether you like it or not, I'm still going to be your brother-in-law, right, Dariantha?" He looked at me and smiled as if he's telling me to answer him 'yes'.

"The two of you, just stop it. You two look like children, you are too old for that. " Dalton scolded me for that.

"I'm not yet old, Dariantha!"

Kaid was laughing when he hit my brother's head. "You have no say for what Dariantha told you, brother-in-law. You are really indeed too old." When Dalton was about to punch Kaid again, I stopped him.

"Where are we going to hang out, Lynn?" I asked her. I couldn't stand being with these two.

"Let's get my car at the resort first, then let's go to your house. You and Dalton can leave your cars there, so that we will just get three cars."

We agreed on what she said, so we got into each other's cars. Lynn rode in my car toward the resort. She got into her car before we went to our house. It even surprised Mom when she saw us all, so I told her about our hang out.

Dalton was about to get into Kaid's car when Lynn pulled him over. "Ride with me in my car, Dalton. Look at me, I will drive all by myself. We still have a long way to go before reaching the resort," she pouted.

Dalton did nothing when Lynn got him to go in her car. "Dariantha, you can ride with me," Ackley told me.

"No, Dariantha, get in in mine," Kaid said. Ackley darted a glare at him, but the latter gave it back. They looked at each other badly, so I intervened before they could hurt each other.

In the end, I chose to ride in Kaid's car. I don't know, but I suddenly saw a glimpse of sadness in Ackley's eyes before I could get in Kaid's car.

I just ignored it and went straight into the car. Kaid smirked at Ackley, which made the latter annoyed, before he entered and started following Lynn's car.
