also remember that the hat sorted alot of Slytherin's into Slytherin House because they would be punished or even disinherited if they had not been put into Slytherin (& some that should have been put in Slytherin ended up elsewhere because they would've ended up in mortal danger by their own Slytherin housemates, never minded the danger from the other 3 houses)
