what advantages do cultivators or the darkness element have anyway? or any other of the rare elements like light or lightning? So far I have no clue what makes Noah special in that regard.

The lightning is probably the ‘gold’ element of the five elements so technically fire, water, wind, earth, and thunder most likely keep each other in check
DeadlinerV:Aaah yes I see what you mean. Well I guess it's a more fundamental element to the world, and like you said we will learn more as Noah progresses. But my guess is that because it is fundamental it's stronger and the mastery of the darkness laws will bring much more benefit to his strength than other laws might do. My logic being that water, fire, air and earth are more wisespred and can balance themselves with the 4 of them. While darkness and light can do so by pair. It would explain why the former are weaker than the latter. But for some reason there is lightning in between, for me that's the one element I can't understand why it is appart from the others. At the end of this arc things should be much clearer for us I hope.

I like that these ancient monsters are smarter than Noah but it seems like his brain formation should have atleast helped him plan something more than teleport+stab
