This is such a heartbreaking chapter. Also, I've been reading lately a lot of true crime stories and Xao Yang's distorted way of thinking reminds me a lot of those. His sociopathic behaviour really believable and frightening.

after watch the drama. .this part still make me sad...i wish Song Lan didn't went to Xue Yang but told Xing Chen first instead...so that they can fight and kill Xue Yang together and be friends again...so sad...i am crying watch this part..and still crying after read this chapter. .😭

My heart is breaking...that guy is a monster

Even though i knew how everything was going to end because i've seen the drama i was still hoping that somehow they'd have a different ending😭

I can't believe how cruel he is to the person who saved his life, just because he lost a finger he killed so many people :(

I cant say more words..definitely a heart cracking story of A-qing,Xingchen and Song Lan😭

I think not enough people in this comment section are complimenting A-Qing. She's truly the hero of this arc. She's brave, witty, clever, and determined. Without her help, I don't think they all would have survived this arc. While I understand why people sympathize with Xue Yang, in the end people still make their own choices. Everyone has a conscience. Some part of him must have felt that what he was doing was wrong, but he simply did not listen to it. In short, stan A-Qing.

on the other hand, xy and wwx could be the same, maybe, in some universe. it's fortunate that jiang fengmian helped wwx when he was young, cause he might end up like xy. no family, no food, no loved ones. this just made so much difference. xy suffered in his childhood and his adulthood. he just wanted also to be loved, to be protected, to be taken care of, like how xxc did to him. wwx have jfm, jyl, jwy and now he have lwj and lsz. but xy have none, again...

Whenever I read this novel I always stop to read the comments after this chapter, and always see quiet a lot of people commenting that they wished Song Alan had handled the situation differently, so that he and Xingchen could have escaped and killed Xue Yang. I get how they feel here, but tbh for me, the real tragedy here isn’t Song Lan and Xingchen, it’s Xue Yangs inability to finally except that he’s become emotionally attached to another person. It’s obvious that he loves Xingchen hopelessly and that he loved the life the three had together.

My heart also goes out to Xue Xang, imagine a person so cruel that he used a little child for his own fun them crippled his hand, what's justice in there. I don't think this is the only time he was abused, so it's justified he will grow up being a malicious person. If anyone look behind his smiling face and tried to help him, maybe he would be another strong cultivator of his time. The real world is cruel, harsh to those who lives on street and without anyone to shelter them. Also his sect leader (Jin something) only tried to protect him because he wanted to revive the tiger seal. Xie Xiechan was the first one to show love, but in his mind he knew the moment his identity is revealed, Xie Xiechan will be the first one to point his sword against him..
