Either choose one or the other. The mythology doesn’t mix well. Nobody wants to see zombie crows, zombie cows, zombie dogs, etc.

You wouldn’t be able to have as large scale of survivors if you did unless MC is part of Umbrella’s board or the relative of Alicia Marcus. Umbrella is a super large scale international organization that has the support of multiple governments since they were able to nuke towns with pretty much zero repercussions. Umbrella would have never let MC expand more than a town before it would be a target for elimination if MC doesn’t have close connections with Umbrella leadership. You could try to do a Chinese style cultivation apocalypse situation where survivors become strong and have their own kingdoms while dealing with evolving zombies.

I’d say go for it just keep the water drying up bs out the story the third movie just started going downhill with that but honestly dead island is probably a better idea since everyone is already infected could have it so 1/1000 ppl are immune n get stronger with time the tv show a nation is also a good crossover especially with dead island included so mc can get more powerful physically n get murphys mental powers not to mention evolving zombies

Si quieres mi opinion te diria que en ves de resident evil, le cruces State of decay tiene mas sentido desde mi pundo de vista y sus zombies son fuertes pero no tanto, tienen buenas mutaciones pero sin exagerar y le puedes poner la causa de su evolucion de manera mas sencilla comenzando por aparcer luego del time skips de 10 años luego de que los caminantes empezaran a agruparce y fucionarce formando el corazon de la plaga(o como se diga). Y luego ya de ahi le empiezas a agregarle las mutaciones como el aullador, feral, juggernaut y el inchado(o como se llame). Esa seria mi opinion ahi tu decides que hacer con ella
