So in the end the sappling was nerfed to death and even killed offscreen... why even create powerful beings only to then twist the story and lore to fit the plot? seriously, the sappling was supposed to be a being sucking up the entire world energy well to power countless treehouses and maintain multiple complex arrays over a huge area, all while asleep. Despite being asleep, just getting close to It's mind can be enough to fry a humans mind. So i'm supposed to accept that this huge mind was damaged by Erlik dying and then even corrupted by gremlik? What? If they had the direct link to the world sappling, all it had to do to cripple them was to use the link to overload their minds. then there's the treehouses. a few treehouses out of thousands being turned into undead and going on a feeding frenzy was enough to cripple the sappling. it didn't even try to fight back. there was talk about the sappling possessing countless spells, yet despite the battle being fought on It's body it didn't use a single spell. This arc is another anticlimactic letdown like the Thrud arc.
Story as awsome as alzato, quality always at top nebel, but this mini-arc was rushed, was ill explained and, for the Moment, useless. Apart for the colonizing program we gain nothing. I wont't criticize, the writing was still top level e I understand that the author had irl problem, but I hope this won't be the standard from now on. Supreme magus is the best, i hope the novel Will Never have a downgrade like this one
