Legion20
Legion20, I had been contemplating whether to leave my review, but I think this story is a rare diamond in the rough comprised of countless transmigration stories in Webnovel. The premise and the direction of the plot is about the same as any other story out there, so why is this one so outstanding? To be honest, I was asking myself this when I found myself not giving up this book after reading the prologue. As I continued reading this story, I started to understand why this story is so appealing. Lith (or Derek) is a flawed individual. This story always managed to hammer this message without being distracting and annoying. In fact, the message is weaved into the narrative naturally. Even though Lith is overpowered for his age, he acknowledges he has his own flaws and works towards them. The pace he reaches greatness is a wonderful balance: the readers experiences the wonderful feeling of the payoff but also see Lith work hard to master his spells. Moreover, we get to see the slow transition in how Lith treats the people around him. In the beginning, he considered to sucuide out of the meaningless of having a second life. But he starts trusting his parents, his sisters, Count Lark and Solus. What I love is that these characters are not mere cannonfodders. Their actions have an impact on Lith, especially Solus. In addition, the story also strikes a stable balance between humor and seriousness. I love the laughs this story gives me. At the same time, I find myself learning more about the world and reflecting on the lessons the story teaches about the world. I forgot to mention, I love the worldbuilding. It’s easy to understand and trhe information does not feel like a dump, but something readers learn alongside Lith. To conclude this review, I have to say that this story is probably the one story that I can continue read, without feeling bored due to repetitiveness or lack of character development. Thank you for blessing us with such a wonderful book.
