I love it! Great first chapter. The shock and reactions of those involved make sense and make you feel like this is really what would happen. Plus, this chapter did a great job of conveying the MC’s toxic mindset. How she’s had both her self-confidence beaten down (to the point where she thinks she’ll essentially expire once she hits 30) and is convinced that she must be married (not because she wants to marry him), but because everyone else has.
