Pretty decent start. If I had another word, it would be awkward. You tend to change your tenses from one sentence to the next and you phrasing is literally awkward, it feels clunky and slightly misshapen. This has not effected the readability much, but it can be a little confusing. You need an editor and a rewrite. But, I will continue reading, so, you definitely got something going.
