The comment I was writing disappeared, so I'll do it shorter: 1. Chloe is wrong - you can still be good while being dark. What she claims that being of darkness is being evil, which is not true. You can still be a force of good while being dark. 2. This is further manipulation; like parents who force their children to be and do as they (parents) want. MC doesn't know better, but they instead of explaining stuff so he can make an informed decision, they force him to be a hero of their definition. Also, she manipulates MC into thinking he's a good guy (he is, but not how Chloe claims), and he only spared those earlier guys cause Milan manipulated him into being the "hero" (telling him that the lil cat girl would be scared of him if he killed them, which would have beeen the right thing). Also, the worst thing is that she told him a huge lie - that he can't do anything. It's wrong. A good example is Loki familia. Others won't touch it, since they KNOW the retaliation will be too much for them. What's worse, she plants an idea into his mind that if he goes all the way fighting evil, he will become the same as them? Which is bull**** of imaginable proportions. What, would he take drugs, rape, murder innocents? BS. In short, they're taking advantage of his *****ty, inexperience, and his trust in them, to selfishly shape him into their version of a hero. I only noticed it recently, but most of the girls want a hero, and they're placing these expectations on the MC, burdening him even more than before. The thing is, they will end up hurting and breaking him more, and even hurting some of the other girls who inevitably will get hurt in the future, since any enemy will see the MC can't even retaliate further than beating up a few thugs and giving them to the authorities (and at worst end up in jail; oh noooo <sarcasm>). At worst he'd kill a few low-level underlings. Though I doubt anything too bad will happen, cause plot convenience.
No need, when I heard the reasoning and total manipulation of the inexperience mc, I'm already done with this novel. But maybe it's just me but I'm totally disappointed how the mc path turns out. Theres no right and theres no wrong, the only right thing is listening to your own heart and following your instinct no matter the rules that impose on you, because have you realize what true strength is? Gods are considered beings above all, but it is if only you have that weak mentality mindset. To travel the path of the strong, one must first go against heaven/god/godess. Temper themselves through time. But unlike the true strong, our mc here is weakminded to temptation, so he aint fit for being, 'The One'. Mc is at most immune to poison, or any kind of negativity that effects his body system. Coward for me is vahns very existence. Given everything, but not the right person to give, what a let down. And guys just don't bother to watch danmachi up coming soon, because I smell the vahness in bellness.
He stupid, I bet if he killed the goddess of thief personally, he woud've earned lots of power titles, acheivements giving him million of points to boost him up to god level. Plus I betchya he would've earned billions of positive karma because of her very existing causing mayhem and a bane to peace.
You know author. Your very own mc will be the one that will drag your novel down drains if you keep him being the goody two shoes he is. For the fact that he can’t even kill criminals is already a big letdown i tell you. Even killing criminals gives negative karma is a big joke on itself. Don’t tell me about putting criminals to rehab as that just amounts to nothing. We readers don’t need that kind of vahn thats too good that he doesnt kill after somebody tortured his loved one. Being ruthless to the enemies while kind to your companions is the right way. Sigh what a huge letdown. Supposed to be a good novel though
I honestly got fed with the word "Hero" now. I feel like that word now has the shadow of vahn. Light here, light there! Vahn you're a hero! Don't kill anyone even if all your wives get tortured, raped and killed cause you would accumulate negative karma if you do so! Oh my... really like the book, just got fed up with the hero and light thing. I feel like the word "hero" is something I would come to hate from now on. Yeah yeah, I know killing is bad and you might be consumed by dark thoughts if you do so. But honestly, I think not only me has this thought, if even one of our love ones were in the situation of Milan, I am even willing to become a monster or a devil just to end those people who dare to harm them. Just the idea of backing away and not killing the one responsible of it all just because it's not your right to do so, is stupid. Danmachi is a world were people being killed and killing is not a rare thing. And I really don't understand how the system works now. Imagine how many innocent people they killed and tortured? They should have accumulated negative karma and vahn killing them should have given him possitive karma instead of a negative one. I would still continue reading the book, author if you feel offended, then sorry. I just wanted to release this frustrations within me or I feel like I would get sick because of how things are progressing into a no to kill MC type.
