A good chapter again. As multiple people have already pointed out, I am also confused about the stats distribution. He should have 5 points (2 from the lvl up and 3 from the bonus) but he spends 7. Other than that, I really liked how you made him see the zombies in the streets and realize that zombies existed before going to investigate the 1st floor. If you hadn't done that, it would have been unbelievable for him to ruthlessly kill the shop owner zombie without spending more time observing.

maybe he had 2 pt originally as lvl 1 and gained 5 more from this lvl up? even in modern day games, you allocate some skill points before you actually start the game.
