Well, the Legion is being very human about it. Afraid something might happen if the Monster descends, so chooses to block it, causing the sacrifice of thousands if not millions of innocent human lives. That said, they may be right and something even worse would happen if it were to descend. I do think it's a bit much to focus so much manpower on blocking her, when they don't have a precedence of what will happen when another Ancient joins the ranks though. Will our favorite ant, Anthony, end up getting called at some point? Or is the "twenty monsters" referred to in ancient writings speaking of the first 20 Ants born of the Sapient Ants species, signifying a new era for Pangera with its rightful rulers, the Ants? Thanks for the chapter, looking forward to more
Why are people looking down on the legionary In the comments? The legionary have sacrificed their lives, future and their own personal happiness to protect the world, and the people who inhabit it; without looking for a reward or even a thanks. THEY FIGHT FOR SOMETHING BIGGER THAN THEMSELVES, BUT I GUSS PEOPLE WHO RUN AWAY FROM THEIR REALITY AND HIDE IN A FANTACY CAN'T POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND THAT KIND OF SELF-SACRIFICE.
the funny part is they go against their very own goals of protecting humanity by doing what they did they sacrifice the country needlessly and I say that because they were stationed at the surface okay that means that the people they had below were already sufficient to stop that monster from going below which means that the people that were blocking that first expanse never needed to leave because if they needed those people to begin with they wouldn't have been stationed at topside and for those going oh well the wave made it messed up yes but at the same time there's monsters below them there's monsters above them you don't need to necessarily stop every single monster just the most powerful ones which means they don't need to stop every monster trying to go down because obviously that's not going to affect things for most monsters otherwise I wouldn't be monsters below them as well that's just counterintuitive instead all they really need to do is focus on stopping the most powerful ones such as the croc mother and a few others maybe which means they don't need all those people down there which also means there was no reason to sacrifice millions of lives everything I've read about these legion show me either they're the dumbest people I've ever encountered because they don't actually think with tactics in mind which for an army that's been doing this for thousands of years seems almost impossible or they're more focused on keeping themselves safe instead of the people that are supposed to be protecting
Is the Legion just hoping that the 20th ancient will come from the first Strata? Even though there are six and the weakest come from the first? is the sacrifice of hundreds, thousands, or even millions of innocent human lives worth minute chance that the 20th ancient comes from the first strata, and they can block it?
