There's no need to be disappointed Anthony, Queen Verita is a typical example of a human ruler. Upon discovery of other intelligent non-human race - if you're weak she will either kill or enslave you; if you're on par she will temporarily treat you as an equal, slowly weaken you then conquer you; if you're stronger than them, she will be friendly, gather her strength and wait for the chance you'll show weakness then devour you.
The ants are the perfect allies to have especially when your fighting against dungeon monsters. The ants are known for have insatiable appetites so the best place for them to be is the dungeon which ,as far as we know, infinitely spawns monsters so in my opinion its no-brainer to have them assist the kingdom with the dungeons. Not to mention ants are great at building tunnels which could mean more entrances to the dungeon and that also would make it easier to get around but of course there is the risk of having too many entrances that could lead to spreading your forces to thin to protect each entrance. However, think the multiple entrances could help satiate the mercenaries and merchants while also satisfying the deep legion. Not to mention that the ants could also help with construction. In almost every way possible this queen ****ed up especially considering her current forces are no match whatsoever for the colony. Maybe one day we will get to see ant and humans fighting and working together but unfortunately that day is not today.
I'm obviously a bit late to the party here. But why exactly is teaming with a dungeon creature looked down upon. Cause it was said before that some rich nobles choose to 'tame' I.e. reconstitute pets. So wouldn't it be safe to assume that if someone saw her with a dungeon monster that she just was secretly taming it for her protection?
The dungeon ants really is most troublesome creature in the dungeon because once an anomaly like anthony shows that is like a warmonger they can actually crea many entrances or exit hole for the creatures of the dungeon then once a wave happen all sorts creature would flock the surface possibly destroying civilizations. Although there are some downsides since higher form of creatures need a lot mana to sustain their peak stregnth. They can also propagate quickly like the zergs as long as there is a constant supply of biomass.
