Exactly, as monsters spawned from the dungeon, it makes no sense that they have genders at all. That's why it doesn't make sense to attach Earth's ant logic to a story that is taking place in another world with magic to boot. So to me all of the ants are its not hes or shes, with Anthony being the exception since he likely considers himself male.
