Kinda late, but i bet many were complaining about it in the original novel, so the author added it here. Btw, i checked the wiki to see how the currency here works, and wtf i've never seen a more indepth wiki
ruscares:Even the subtle stuff. Pay attention to how coin system was finally explained. First we were given that there is Pounds which are greater than Soli which are greater than Pence. Then we were given a math problem in the cane store where spending 1 Pound on a cane that costs 7 soli and 6 pence, resulted in the change of 12 soli and 5 pence and one penny. And then finally for those who didn't want to waste time on solving the problem, we get an exact value of denominations given as a joke, rather than introduced in a stupid way to the reader. This novel is brilliant

Thanks god the author clearly explained the coin system of this novel, I was having a headache trying to keep up with how much the MC was expending... So it goes like this then: 1 pound = 20 soli 1 soli = 12 pences 1 pence = 2 halfpence or 4 quarterpence So on a pound there is a total of 240 pences The MC receives 3 pounds weekly = 60 soli = 720 pences He was able to take out 4 weeks in advanced of payment, which would be 12 pounds = 240 soli = 2880 pences He should have around 2800-2840 pences, I don't remember how much the cane cost
