Only reason I hate that Lisa is staying is because I'm 99% sure the marquis is going kidnap her and her friends will have to rescue her.

These villagers are very ungrateful to Valdel after all that he has done for them and everyone else.

Ok, here is my advice as a fellow author. Don't fall in the trap of stating every thought process you have in the story. It kills immersion, it makes character go out of their normal personality and makes your story basically a meme. Write what needs to be written, and elude through various details what you didn't explicitely say.
