Question IS: how many Design Spirits Can VES Summon at once? Part of me thinks it's worth it to try warping his uncle and grandpa over, using the masterwork connection and phase lord teleport. If possible, their breakthrough (s) to Ace Pilot will be a cheap, but helpful win.
