Every time he's doing such stunts I am confirming the fact Ves is a villain at heart. I know the chapter is supposed to make us feel he's careful for Ketis sake. It fails with Ves final impulse. Hopefully she'll be fine or even better.

Imagine what will our favorite boy who was once a terrorist, later fought against alien sandman on behalf of Govt and finally became a Larkinson will do if he knows Ves gave a living sword to Ketis? ?
